POMMERLOCH, Luxembourg – June 2, 2026 – Avient Corporation, an innovator of materials solutions, today announced the launch of Therma-Tech™ Thermally Conductive Formulations with natural graphite. These new grades address enhanced fire-safety regulations for polymer products in automotive, consumer electronics, and industrial equipment that incorporate electrification, creating an urgent demand for efficient, lightweight thermal management alternatives to traditional metal components. The launch, along with the company’s comprehensive portfolio of materials solutions, will be showcased at two major European trade shows: France Innovation Plasturgie (FIP) in Lyon, and Equiplast in Barcelona, Spain — each running June 2–5, 2026.

New for 2026: Materials solutions that address the market shift

Avient’s new Therma-Tech Formulations reflect the direction the market is moving — away from metal components and toward high-performance polymer alternatives that help customers meet both performance and regulatory objectives.

The market challenge: Engineers managing heat in LED lighting assemblies, automotive heat sinks, and heat-exchange systems face mounting pressure to reduce component weight and system cost while maintaining thermal performance — and increasingly, to do so through standard injection molding rather than die casting or machining.

The technology: The expanded Therma-Tech™ portfolio introduces eight new grades that leverage natural graphite to deliver high thermal conductivity while supporting improved cost efficiency and sustainability. These new formulations are engineered to replace metal components such as aluminum, offering polymer-based advantages across the value chain.

Key attributes:

  • High thermal conductivity via natural graphite-based technology, with improved cost efficiency compared to specialty filler systems
  • Metal replacement capability and corrosion resistance engineered to replace die-cast aluminum and similar metal components
  • Weight reduction and increased design freedom achievable through standard injection molding processes

Comprehensive Portfolio Showcase

In addition to these new product launches, Avient will showcase a comprehensive range of innovative polymer materials at both FIP and Equiplast 2026:

  • Healthcare Solutions: Avient’s healthcare portfolio includes technologies for medical device and healthcare equipment manufacturers:
    • GlideTech™ Formulations can deliver exceptional coefficient of friction (CoF) performance without using PFAS
    • Trilliant™ HC Healthcare Thermoplastics for chemical resistance, enhanced toughness and durability, and UL 94 flame ratings
    • Versaflex™ HC Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs) are formulated without phthalates, offering excellent medical-grade TPEs with chemical resistance and the ability to bond in healthcare device applications
  • Flame Retardant Technologies: Avient also has flame-retardant solutions in nylon, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyolefin resins, and TPEs, offering comprehensive performance for diverse applications:
    • OnFlex™ NHFR Non-Halogen Flame Retardant TPEs can achieve UL 94 V-0 performance with excellent flexibility and low moisture absorption for automotive, electronics, and construction applications
    • Flame-retardant engineered polymers with recognized UL 94 flammability standards, RoHS-compliance for use in electrical and electronic applications, colorability for aesthetic or industry color-coding requirements, and non-halogenated grades available within the Maxxam™ FR and Bergamid™ FR portfolios
  • Sustainable Materials: Avient’s sustainable portfolio spans a range of polymer bases, including TPEs, nylon, and polyolefins, offering customers a path to carbon footprint reduction while maintaining performance:
    • Recycled-content technologies that can be formulated with 9%-100% post-industrial recycled (PIR) and post-consumer recycled (PCR) content
    • Bio-based solutions containing 16–75% renewable plant-derived content, helping customers reduce carbon footprint while maintaining performance comparable to virgin materials
  • Aesthetic Solutions:
  • Artisan™ Pre-Colored Thermoplastics, available in high gloss, created for paint replacement with excellent scratch resistance and ultraviolet (UV) stability
  • Gravi-Tech™ Density Modified Formulations provide metallic finishes and premium aesthetics for luxury packaging and are also available utilizing recycled resin and/or filler
